Plan Ahead.
For the Ones You Love.

Pre-arranging your funeral is one of the most considerate gifts you can give your family. Our licensed Preneed Agents at both locations are here to guide you.

Why Plan Ahead

A Gift to Your Family

When a loved one passes without pre-arranged funeral plans, family members are left to make dozens of difficult decisions during one of the most painful times of their lives — often with limited time, limited information, and heightened emotion.

Pre-planning changes that. When you arrange your own funeral in advance, you relieve your family of that burden entirely. Your wishes are documented, your decisions are made, and your family can focus on what matters most: being together and supporting one another.

Pre-planning is not a morbid exercise. It is a profound act of love.

Freeman Funeral Home’s licensed Preneed Sales Agents — including Damon V. Kirkland in Waynesboro and Haley E. Weaver in Citronelle — are here to walk you through every option at your own pace, with no pressure and no obligation.

Peace of Mind

Know that your wishes will be honored exactly as you intended, handled by the people you’ve chosen, at the location you’ve selected.

Financial Protection

Pre-funded plans can lock in today’s prices for future services, protecting your family from rising funeral costs over time.

Family Relief

Your family won’t need to guess what you wanted, disagree over decisions, or carry the financial weight of unexpected costs.

Your Choice

From the type of service to the music, the readings, and the burial preferences — every detail reflects your wishes, not someone else’s best guess.

A Special Note for Veterans

VA Burial Benefits

If you served in the United States military, you may be entitled to VA burial benefits, including burial in a national cemetery, a grave marker, a burial flag, and in some cases a burial allowance.

Our team has extensive experience helping veteran families navigate VA Form 21P-530 (burial allowance) and VA Form 10-1330 (headstone/marker applications). We make this process as simple as possible.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What is the difference between a funded and unfunded pre-arrangement?
An unfunded pre-arrangement documents your wishes on file with us, but no money is set aside in advance. A funded plan means you pre-pay for your services, often locking in today’s prices and ensuring the funds are available when needed. Our agents explain the pros and cons of each.
Can I transfer a pre-arrangement to another funeral home?
In most cases, yes. Pre-arrangements made with Freeman Funeral Home can be transferred to another funeral home in the event that you relocate or your family circumstances change. Your Preneed Agent can explain the specifics of your plan and any applicable terms.
Is there any obligation when I schedule a consultation?
Absolutely not. Consultations are completely free and carry no obligation whatsoever. Many people visit simply to learn about their options and leave without making any decisions — that is perfectly fine. We are here to inform, not to pressure.
What if my wishes change after I’ve pre-planned?
Your pre-arrangement can be updated at any time to reflect changes in your wishes. We encourage you to review your arrangements periodically and contact us whenever you’d like to make a change.
Can I pre-plan for a family member?
Yes. Many families choose to pre-plan for an elderly or ill family member to ease future decisions. Our agents can discuss how to arrange services on behalf of another person and what information is needed to begin.
How much does a funeral cost?
Funeral costs vary based on the type of service selected (traditional burial, cremation, etc.), the products chosen (casket, urn, etc.), and other factors. We provide complete price lists at both locations in compliance with FTC requirements, and our agents are always available to discuss options at every budget level.
